“Like an ethereal summer breeze, Flora Poste's balmy voice hovers gracefully above her gently strummed guitar ballads. She layers her harmonies, to angelic effect…Flora Poste is brimming with potential…there can be no doubt that her records will just keep getting better.”

Andy Shauf -- need I say more?

Okay, well, if you've never experienced an evening of Andy-in-person, first off: DO.
and second: here is a handy summary of his skills, courtesy of Alternative Press Magazine --> "Alt-country-tinged banjo-folk that keeps its volume low and its lyrics heartfelt.")

As for Julia and Her Piano:
"Twenty one year old Julia McDougall grew up in southern Saskatchewan in a town the size of a thumb tack." (aka: Yorkton) Her melodies, well at times rough and chaotic, are beautiful and unformulated.

We like the sounds of this!

Colin Rink.jpg

Rink’s charismatic voice hints at a life of odd jobs, cross-country travels, and long nights piecing together a living with a guitar, a harmonica, and a head full of stories.

Johnny Good draws a very thin line between folk and progressive rock. All the warmth and beauty from acoustic sound scape, mixed with a structure of writing that is never one way or the other...a heartfelt juxtaposition of ambition vs ability; Johnny Good is a rocket vs the atmosphere.

Prom night in black and white

These Saskatoon boys are kicking off a Canadian jaunt right here in Moose Jaw, with an acoustic set at your favourite cafe and mine.
Send your teenagers, and don't be afraid to tag along and lurk around in the back with the other people-who-aren't-14-year-old-girls -- 20+ folks need a bit of powerpop every now and then after all (right??)

An event so shrouded in mystery, even the events coordinator isn't entirely sure what's going on... But you may have noticed books of poetry hanging around 23 Main Street, published by the ambitious young Moose Javian, Jessica Layne Bird.
This is an evening that a handful of our creative regulars are conspiring to treat us to some poetry and music, so come on down and enjoy this elusive event ;D
